EXPERIENCE:
My name is Emma and I was born in Lens, a small town in Northern France. I have a background in French law, I love painting and traveling. In 2003, I decided to move to Eugene, Oregon to study English teaching and teach French on the UofO campus. I stayed there several years before moving to Portland, OR, and then to San Francisco. In 2010, I received several job offers from a law firm (John’s Day) and banks (HSBC, ING, Bancomer) in Mexico City to teach business English and common law. I stayed there for 2 years before moving to Canada (Alberta and Quebec) to teach French and give a bilingual education to my daughter. I moved back in 2014 to Mexico but this time, I couldn’t handle the same lifestyle as before so I decided to change my strategy and give essentially online French and English lessons.
I offer different teaching methods but I enjoy more giving personalized lessons in a relaxed environment. I have experience working with Americans, Latin Americans, Europeans, and Chinese, all age groups. My background in various fields (law, art, cognitive, development psychology, education science, and business), is an excellent asset and offers me the joy of talking about anything. I’m a very inquisitive teacher and I’m not afraid of learning from my students.
I’ve prepared many students for the AP French, and DELF exams with great success. My lessons are structured with a personalized method. You’ll receive the right tools to turn any weakness into a strength.
I also have extensive experience in working with children, I create an interesting and fun learning environment for them. I enjoy discovering new cultures, sharing my humble perspectives. I think learning a language is a great way, nowadays, to prepare for a brighter future and open oneself to a different vision, mindset, culture. The world is so vast, why not enjoy its various colors, smells, shapes, etc.
