Tutor Profile

Bonjour ! My name is Alexis and I was born in Troyes, a lovely French city. I fell in love with teaching 15 years ago, when I started my career as a drum teacher. I’ve helped hundreds of students all around France, but also in China, where I lived for two years. My first opportunity to teach French was in New-York, which allowed me to stay there for six months and  rediscover my own language and culture.

I’m passionate about my work. Helping my students and witnessing their achievements is such a joy for me. Curious by nature, I also love the fact that teaching allows me to learn from every student. Having lived and worked in different countries, I understand the challenges we face when learning a new language or trying to adapt to a different culture. I’ve been lucky enough to have many meaningful conversations with foreign people about France or the French language, and it definitely broadened my horizons about my own culture and the way I teach.

During my spare time, I love listening to music, reading poetry, learning about philosophy & psychology, discovering French gastronomy…and many other things ! I’m also learning Chinese and am interested in Asian culture in general.
