• Our French language school has been established on the net since 2004. We have become experts in teaching French and in preparing students to pass the DELF exams. We understand the importance of creating stimulating lessons to keep the teenager motivated in learning. The one-on-one French classes for teens are personalized to their French level and learning pace. 

• They will be able to express themselves to a French native teacher who is patient, kind, understanding and encouraging. This approach helps them gain great confidence in speaking the language. Many school French teachers, in non French speaking countries, are not French natives. With our school, they will learn the real spoken and written French as if they were in France.

Taking the French lessons via Zoom are never boring because the interactions are lively and stimulated by different online activities. The French language tutor will focus on the areas the student needs in order to gain confidence and be ready to pass the DELF exam.

What is DELF ?

The diploma in French language studies (DELF) for adolescents, the “junior/scolaire” version, is an official diploma issued by the Ministry of National Education. 

DELF is an official, high-quality diploma, in line with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This diploma is recognised throughout the world and it is valid for life.

There are 4 diplomas that correspond to the first 4 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B, DELF B2.

Depending on the level achieved, the DELF can facilitate the acceptance to a university in France, Europe or a French-speaking country and to some grandes écoles universities.

The different DELF exams:
French lessons

• The DELF diploma for the “junior/school” version has the same value as a diploma for the “general public” adult version. The exam version is not written on the diploma.
• The DELF “junior/scholastic” is aimed at teenagers aged 12 to 18, who want to improve their French language skills. The “junior/scholastic” version implies that only themes of interest to young people are included in the exercises.
• The “junior/scolaire” version of the DELF can be divided into two variations: the DELF “junior” and the DELF “scolaire”.

Note: the different competences assessed and the categories of topics covered in the DELF “junior” and DELF “scolaire” examinations are identical. It is the framework in which the exams are organized that varies.

Imogen my daughter (20yrs old) has been having Skype French lessons with Learn French at Home since May 2009 ( when she was 12) ! She started them in middle school as she was struggling with French ( a compulsory IB component). The Skype lessons allowed her to gain the confidence to learn the vocabulary and also speak French in a non threatening environment. She went from a C to an A in months and maintained this grade throughout her high school years with the support of your school and the French tuition. Having Skype lessons meant Imogen was able to have the classes at home, which are significantly more flexible than face to face classes. Audrey and Imogen have developed such a lovely relationship over the years and after high school Imogen went to visit Audrey and met face to face. She has continued to take Skype tuition with Audrey as a university student for the past 2 years and has found her to be an amazing support at this higher level. From learning the basics to translating the French constitution, the tuition has afforded Imogen with the support to understand and use her French, but more importantly to develop a love of the language, the culture and the people. She has made several trips to France over the years and she loves being able to put all her hard work into practice. She has even been accepted into an Erasmus year abroad in a French university. For Xmas my parents gave  Skype French tuition classes as a present to Imogen and have been delighted to be able to give a present that keeps on giving and one that made such an impact. One year she and my mother even spent time in Paris together with Imogen acting as the translator. This gave enormous pleasure to them both. I have passed on the details for Audrey to numerous other people and all have found her to be an excellent resource and a wonderful support.
