EXPERIENCE:
Hello ! My name is Emma, I was born in the South of France and I grew up in the beautiful region called Occitanie.
I have been teaching French as a second language for four years. I have a three-year university diploma in Educational Sciences and a master’s degree in FLE: Didactics of French as a Foreign and Second Language, obtained at Paul Valéry Montpellier III. Those studies were formative in my teaching, based on a pedagogy adapted to the needs of the learners with a positive and gentle approach.
During my studies, I was able to teach French online for two schools based in New-York; this experience allowed me to set up many artistic and intercultural projects which allowed me to write my thesis on the theme of interculturality and the usefulness of the learners’ languages in the teaching of French; I also intervened in UPE2A, a specialized class for newly arrived students in France.
After graduating, I was able to work in translation and proofreading, but I mostly wanted to teach French. That’s how I started in UPE2A, to teach French to Ukrainian refugees. I also had the opportunity to go to the United States, in Portland for a few months to teach French in an immersive school. I now teach students of all ages and levels !
My native language is French, but I also grew up with Spanish. I then learned English at school; i love to watch TV shows in English ! During my university years, I graduated with a university degree in Japanese. Today, I am learning Russian and Ukrainian from my students!
I was able to discover European countries such as England, Spain and Italy. I am looking forward to discovering other countries and learning new languages.
I love art (which is a great inspiration for cultural projects!), music and horse riding. I love learning and teaching, which is why I am so dynamic and passionate about my job!
